If you have ever tried to buy a left hand guitar you will be aware that whilst there are lots of right handed types available at any one time, the handed versions are generally not in stock, not available or on a long lead time. It seems like the ratio of left-handed models available represent far less than the 15 percent of people that need that type of guitar.
The ability to go out and buy a left-hand guitar is mostly acknowledged and understood as being harder, however it shouldn't be unattainable.I'd wager that Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney and Kurt Cobain didn't have to go traipsing around guitar stores trying to find their famous left handed Fenders and Hofners, but that is not a privilege bestowed on the majority of us. Mind you, Hendrix might have done as he never seemed to be able to find one.
On the web there are numerous of fantastic places that it is possible to acquire lefty guitars. They can even devote whole areas for them. I've also remarked that the once solely right handed training systems and manuals now have lefty editions. Plainly, its easier for the internet stores to provide these services as they do not have to worry about shop fronts or small stock rooms. At last, the lefty guitar player can enjoy, more or less, the same choice as the right handed player and not have to worry about performing a 'Hendrix'.
These days, I believe that it is visually slightly sad if a left-handed guitarist plays the right handed instrument the wrong way up. It will not seem cool, it really appears you've pilfered a friends guitar, re-stringed it and turned it up the other way. How many right handed guitar players do you see playing left handed guitars? I rest my case.
So whilst the average left-hand person will still have to deal with door handles being on the wrong side, drink fountains being the other way around and in some cases the mouse on their own home computer being suitable for the right hander. It does seem that in the world of guitar players a tide is beginning to change and purchasing a left handed guitar is becoming simplier and easier.Hence the assessment that lefties are more athletic, have greater spatial awareness, a lot more artistically innovative and think more speedily is now joined by the simple fact they are able to right now with less effort purchase a guitar appropriate to their inclination. Or possibly I am somewhat biased.
